Unlike other pets, the Hermès Rock doesn’t require food, water, or exercise… but it sure as hell requires a frivolous buyer.
Let’s be honest, at some point or another, we’ve all spent our money on something we absolutely regret. An impulse online buy, for example, is something to frown over once you realize it doesn’t fit you and you can’t return it. Maybe you’ve bought a purse or two that you never really wear and, now that you think of it, should give it to a friend who might make more use out of it than you. This Hermès paperweight, however, absolutely takes the cake.
Marketed as an elegant paperweight, Hermès is selling this glorified window-smasher at an amazing $840 USD. According to the website, each “stone” is unique and outfitted with a leather strap which is available in five different colors: dark brown, red, black, tan, and light blue. The Galet Paperweight uses leftover materials from Hermès bags, accessories, and shoes to make the paperweight, making every stone different in shade and shape. But according to every sane person on the planet who has knowledge of this product, it’s a rock. It’s a very expensive, weird-looking rock from a brand who has run out of ideas on how to take their die-hard customers’ money. I’ll keep what little I have in my bank account, thank-you very much, but if you’re interested here’s a link below.
Disclaimer: The product is no longer available on the website, but you can checkout the other paperweight’s they have in stock.
